Enjoy!

P.S. I added a page element to the bottom on the page.
All should be proceeded with "Wisconsin -
"Not Too Bad a Place"
"We're All Up North"
"Whine Not"
"Why Not?"
"Heart of Flyover Country"
"Ya Sure, You Betcha"
"European-Like, But We Speak English"
"Good Schools and Stuff"
"A State of Bliss"
"Wisconsin - Enter at Your Own Risk"
"Wisconsin - No Opposing Views Allowed"
"Wisconsin - More lakes than Minnesota!"
"Wisconsin - Due North, East, South and West of Madison."
"Wisconsin - Open For The Seasons!"
To many laws?
"If you liked Leviticus, you'll love Wisconsin."
"Wisconsin - Good folks, Good times!"
It's all about the cows
Wisconsin - More Happy Cows Than California
Wisconsin - Cows Are Happier Here
Hey! Cows are happier here. And yes, just like Europe, except we speak English... hehe love it!

ReplyDeleteI have no idea how I posted three times... sorry
ReplyDeleteThat's alright Rebecca! It boosts Lydia's comment count :-)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is Good Folks, good Times

Yep, I love that one about Europe, it's true too!!!
ReplyDeleteNorth, South, East and West of Madison. Yep, that's about right. Either that or West, North, and South of Milwaukee. And it is pronounced Miwaukee not MiLwaukee.
The only one I don't see is we speak Indian here :) (for those of you who don't know, only people from Wisconsin can pronounce all the names of the cities with Indian names, just ask Rebecca, she works at the flower shop :) )
More laws than Leviticus. Haha. Personally I would pay money to have that on MY liscence plate. Nothing like having the state dictate paternity over it's constituents! We do I sign up to abdicate my personal God given freedom?
ReplyDeleteSorry Lids, so very politically deep!
I like "good folks, good times" and "enter at your own risk" --they're both so true :D Great post.
ReplyDeleteAbout the page element at the bottom...you did to do a good job with Meg! *sigh* I guess I'll forever be an Affected Little Goose :D :D
Your lil boy is so cute!

I like your idea Katie. How about this: Wisconsin- Miwaukee not MiLwaukee!! or Wisconsin- If you want to live here, learn Indian.
ReplyDeleteSo Merry, are you saying we're hazerdous??????? Maybe up North we're people go to DQ on snowmobles, but in southern WI we're pretty civilized. Sort-of.
Yeah, that's right!!!! We DO speak many dialects of the native american language here. Like Portage. Waukesha. Mazomanie. etc....
ReplyDeletemy favorite line has got to be 'ya sure, you betcha'. when i lived at the sawyers' in california, there was a cheese commercial that portrayed a wisconsin family (complete with cheesehead hats) coming to visit CA. there were a couple of policemen that had pulled them over and the dad was talking about how they'd come to see all the 'usual attractions' that CA has to offer, the golden gate, etc.
ReplyDeletethey leave and one officer says to the other, 'are they here for the cheese?'
to which the other answered: 'oh, you betcha.' sam loved that commercial and would quote that all the time!
and lest you should think i am making fun of wisconsin accents, i have my roots in minnesota, yah, sure, y'know.
i thought the european-like bit was funny but i have no idea what that's all about...
ok, this is a long enough post!
