"Oh the barnyard is busy with the sounds of the season..."

"Out of the four seasons there is only one that really makes a person feel like singing. That season is Spring."

Thankfully it's FINALLY here!!!
P.S. Guess who said that? I'll give you a hint: it's not a well- known person.

Two quotes of Abraham Lincoln's simple wisdom

"Things may come to those who wait, but only things left by those who hustle."

"He does best in God's great world who does his best in his own little world."

One of the best men to ever serve our country I think. Theodore Roosevelt, George W. Bush and Lincoln are my favorite Presidents.

A Few Random Pictures

Sarah Beth Update:
She said my name!! The other day mom told me to go do something so I left the room. Mom says after I left Sarah started saying "Idie? Idie?" and putting her hands out in the "where" sign. I'm so blessed!!

Yesterday Mom asked me to take care of S.B. while she got some work done so "we" practiced "my" piano lesson. She looks so studious in this picture. Like she's really playing something. She's stood by herself a few times now, soon she's be walking. *Sniff* my little girl's growing up!

Pink Panther!

Here's the promised Pink Panther cast picture. We didn't take one so I took a picture of the one that's on my autograph sheet. That's me in the pink cardigan in the bottom right-hand corner. Notice the two guys in turbans? Those were my special project because I brought them. They really liked falling off, so I was always fixing them.

Hats!!

My friend Lillie and I decorated some hats last week as her birthday present to me. We had lots of fun making them as extravagant as possible.

There's a close up of mine. Lillie and I both had a fake dove somewhere on the hat, we named them Gwendolen and Lucy. After we finished our hats we dressed up to match our hats and had a photo shoot. Then Lillie and her mom surprised me by saying they were taking me to a tea room, in costume! The people at the tea room thought we were so funny, a bunch of them started taking pictures of us and asking us if we were part of some historical club! After tea we walked down the main street of the town, (it's a long way from where Lillie and I live)Everybody stared at us and waved. It was pretty funny. The flowery box thingy in the background is called a hat box, Lillie's mom bought it for me at an antique store in the town.

I had LOTS of fun.

The Pink Panther!!

Hey everyone! Merry requested pictures so, here you go. I'll try to explain most of them. I also promised a story. There is a part in the second half where the good guy, Clouseau, goes into a German restaurant. Inside wait 9 assassins from different countries waiting to kill him because the bad guy, Dreyfus, has threaded to "vaporise the world with the doomsday machine unless Clouseau is killed."

I'm slightly proud of this scene because some of the costume's were my ideas. And yes the Irish is wearing my nightgown.

Left to right is Polish, Aussie, Italian, Arab, Irish and Japanese. Not show is German and Spanish.

The not show German gives Clouseau a poisoned drink just as the Arab comes behind him to kill him. He decides he doesn't want to drink the drink and throws it over his shoulder, right into the Arab's face, killing her. All should be right, no?(Well not for the Arab, but...) It went fine till performance night, when the Arab, my friend Lillie, decided to stand closer to Clouseau than before and got hit by the cup, a big plastic one, like seen in the picture. She died fine on stage so we all figured she was fine. It wasn't until when she got off stage and into the light of the dressing room that we realized she had a goose egg and gash on her forehead and there was blood EVERYWHERE! Thankfully she was well enough to act the next night although all her characters had three stitches in their foreheads.

This is my other big project, what we called the "staff" scene. The inventor of the doomsday machine, a nice person, was kidnapped, that's how Dreyfus got it, and here Clouseau is interrogating the household staff to figure out who did it.
He gets nowhere.

They're all sobbing because he just killed one of the beekeeper's bees.

Here's the Clouseau and the main girl, Olga. She's the Russian assassin but she's in love with Clouseau so she can't kill him, but she tries a few times before chickening out. In this picture he just sneezed on her, I love their expressions:

She still likes him after that. What's that quote about women loving when all hope is gone?

Here's the bad guy:
He's demanding Clouseau's death on a television broadcast. His character is a cross between a terrorist and a really mad guy.
I don't have the cast picture uploaded right now, but I will later. then you can see mt turbans. Hope this wasn't really boring.
Cheerio,
Lydia

A Transformation

OK, so yesterday I had this list:

The "Clean Room" and "Put away clean laundry" items were the most urgent was because I've been really busy with the upcoming homeschool play and haven't had time to clean. Therefore my room looked like this:

Yes, I know, awful.
But what about this?
As you can see I tackled my room and...drum roll please...CLEANED it!!! It needed it to because I'm doing costumes for the homeschool play and we had play practice everyday this week. I've barely had enough time to eat and sleep. I know that's not a good excuse for having a really messing room, but it's my only one... I usually keep my room in pretty good shape, when I have time. Every year I do a spring cleaning , usually in preparation for a graduation party, there isn't one this year so I did it early. Enjoy pictures of my hard earned transformation!
This:
To this!

Then this:

To this.

Nothing like a full day of cleaning to make one feel accomplished. How do public school kids do it? My room was a pigsty and I was only busy for ONE week, not a whole school year!

Debbie and I were fooling a round with the camera and taking a bunch of funny shots of me in my maid outfit.

All of them are crossed off now:)

P.S. The play went great last night, I'll post some pictures soon as I can. Then I'll tell you about our mid-performance adventure when someone got conked in the head and started to bleed...

Adventures of the Babysitter

Picture this: two baby girls, somewhere between 6 months and a year. Playing on a carpeted floor, one dark haired with brown eyes. The other, light blond hair and blue eyes. The light baby is sucking a binky happily. The dark haired one reaches over and with a determined swipe, plucks the binky away, depositing it in her own mouth contentedly. Light looks a bit startled, but makes no verbal complaint beyond a mumbled fuss. Time passes, Dark becomes upset about something and starts up a wail, out falls the binky. The chance Light has been waiting for, grabbing her property back, she plops it back in her mouth and turns away to play more. Dark, with a fuss, goes for it again, now smarter, Light moves off. Who knew being 8 months could be so complicated??

Crankiness sets in, and our heroine Babysitter herself, is forced to make a decision. On the edge of the living room sits a bouncy chair, complete with lights, sound, toys, rattles, everything that could possibly be annoying, also on the front is the most essential element, a button to turn it off. Light is put in it and for the first time all day is content... for 5 minutes. Soon a piercing cry splits the air, Babysitter, playing quietly with Dark, sighs. Out goes Light, in goes Dark. Dark, who loves the bouncy, could be in there for hours and starts cooing happily. Light looks confused, wasn't she just enjoying herself in there a bit ago? She bawls. Babysitter can not figure out what is wrong, she acted as if she wanted out, now she wants in. Another switch is made, maybe she made a mistake. WAAAAAAAA! On the other hand, maybe she didn't. Another switch. Soon Babysitter realizes the problem. Light wants to play with the toys in the bouncy, but to leave Babysitter's lap?? Are you kidding?? Babysitter sits on the floor in front of the bouncy holding Light in her lap while she plays with the toys on the bouncy while Dark jumps around in the bouncy.

Having twins would definitely be interesting...

Will Babysitter survive till Mom gets home????? Stay tuned for another adventure!!!!!!
