Thankful Thursday #21

I am Thankful for all my wonderful friends, and especially for that one friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Ri sent me this forward, I thought it was interesting, if a bit sappy. I don't do forwards, but I thought I post it here for you all.

LEMONS and SUGAR

You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

1. There are at least two people in this world

that would die for you.

2. At least 15 people in this world

love you in some way.

3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you

is because they want to be just like you.

4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone,

even if they don't like you.

5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you

before they go to sleep.

6. You mean the world to some one.

7. You are special and unique.

8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.

9. When you make the biggest mistake ever,

something good comes from it.

10.When you think the world has turned its back on you

take another look..

11. Always remember the compliments you received.

Forget about the rude remarks.

And always remember.....

when life hands you Lemons,

ask for Sugar and call me over!

Good friends are like stars.

You don't always see them,

But you know they are always there.

I would rather have one rose and a kind word

from a friend while I'm here

than a whole truckload when I'm gone.

Happiness keeps You Sweet,

Trials keep You Strong,

Sorrows keep You Human,

Life keeps You Humble,

Success keeps You Glowing,

But Only

God Keeps You Going

I told you it was sappy, don't say I didn't warn you :-)

Wordy Wednesday #2

Photogenic: Tending to look attractive and good in photographs.
Camera Shy: Shunning photographers because of a dislike of being photographed.

Example 1: It is good to be photogenic for your senior pictures.
Example 2: Grace Photography worked wonders with the camera-shy girl.

Steph took my senior pictures on Monday.
It was an interesting experience.
Fun, but I'm not going to go into modeling anytime soon.

Here's some of my favorites.
Copyrights go to Grace Photography.

Note: These are my favorites. I don't think Mom and Steph are crazy about #3 or #5.
My new profile picture is from Monday too.

Four Months Too Late

I was born four months to late to vote in this vastly -important election.
Why so important you ask? Because Ladies and Gents, if Obama wins this election, we are going down. This is the man who wants to "spread the wealth around." *Clears throat* excuse me? That wouldn't be SOCIALISM would it?????? If he's elected, our fore-fathers will roll over in their graves.
Honestly, I'm a bit nervous. I always am on election nights. 8 years ago I felt sick to my stomach the whole day and hardly slept that night. 4 years ago I was smart and spent the night at Lillie's house. This year I'm going to Heather's for a bible study and then I'm going to shut myself in my room and read the nicest un-political book I can find.

But I really don't need to be like that. Because whatever happens today, tomorrow or the rest of my life I know God will take care of me and mine. It may not be what I want, It may not be what I expect. On the other hand It may be all my wonderful dreams come true. What ever happens God will take care of me, and that's a reassuring thought.

Here's just one example of Jesus caring for his people in amazing ways:

And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. He said, Bring them hither to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children. ~Matthew 14:15-21

Last night we read this as a family. Luke asked "How did Jesus do that?" We told him it was a miracle. A miracle. You know some people say that the time for miracles is over. But I don't agree. I'm not frightened of the future because I believe in God, and I believe in Miracles.
