This is portions of a Wisconsin State Journal article about what our new state slogan should be. They were all sent in by Wisconsinites. Most of them only make sense to Wisconsin citizens. Sorry to Kourt, Erica, Tyson, Merill and all the other who visit my blog who aren't my family. If you DO understand it, maybe you have a bit of the Wisconsin red neck in your heart of hearts:-)

North, South, East and West of Madison. Yep, that's about right. Either that or West, North, and South of Milwaukee. And it is pronounced Miwaukee not MiLwaukee.
The only one I don't see is we speak Indian here :) (for those of you who don't know, only people from Wisconsin can pronounce all the names of the cities with Indian names, just ask Rebecca, she works at the flower shop :) )
More laws than Leviticus. Haha. Personally I would pay money to have that on MY liscence plate. Nothing like having the state dictate paternity over it's constituents! We do I sign up to abdicate my personal God given freedom?

So Merry, are you saying we're hazerdous??????? Maybe up North we're people go to DQ on snowmobles, but in southern WI we're pretty civilized. Sort-of.
Yeah, that's right!!!! We DO speak many dialects of the native american language here. Like Portage. Waukesha. Mazomanie. etc....
my favorite line has got to be 'ya sure, you betcha'. when i lived at the sawyers' in california, there was a cheese commercial that portrayed a wisconsin family (complete with cheesehead hats) coming to visit CA. there were a couple of policemen that had pulled them over and the dad was talking about how they'd come to see all the 'usual attractions' that CA has to offer, the golden gate, etc.
they leave and one officer says to the other, 'are they here for the cheese?'
to which the other answered: 'oh, you betcha.' sam loved that commercial and would quote that all the time!
and lest you should think i am making fun of wisconsin accents, i have my roots in minnesota, yah, sure, y'know.
i thought the european-like bit was funny but i have no idea what that's all about...
