Algebra, yes the dreaded word. The dreaded subject. The dreaded everything else and the worst of all horrible school subjects. "It pierces my soul!!!"
He he, no, I'm not that bad, and that last quote is a joke. Just so everyone knows it's from Persuasion. Today I started Algebra I. Finishing Pre-Algebra with an A on the final test helps boost my confidence in my brain. But I know the actual Algebra will be harder, but I think I can do it. I don't know if every knew, but last fall I knew as much math as a fifth grader (no pun intended.) 7 months later (the present) I am now almost where I should be in math knowledge. I don't know quite how it happened. God must have done something to my brain to make it more hmmm.... smarter, I guess. Mom also found this cool math program called Math-You-See that is easy to understand and kid-friendly. Thank you to every one who encouraged me all year, I couldn't have made it through those rough spots with out you. I would have given up. I still can use prayers and encouragement as I attempt Algebra I!!! So keep it up.
Hope you all aren't bored with my description of my brain-impediment. Just wanted to express my thanks!!!
Cheerio,
~Me~

Great Job Lyds! I'm really impressed. I can't believe you have done so much math. I'm still a little behind in my math. Right now I am in Saxon Math 6/5.
I'm stickin up for you all the way through Algebra 1 :D
Love you,
Merrill
p.s. I laughed and laughed when I saw "It pierces my soul" :D I can still hear Sue reading that letter...:D
p.s.2. I'll be praying for you.
Lydia
I know how it is to be behind in math. Ever since my grandpa had his accident and my mom had to take care of him. I've been behind. I am gradually catching up. It hasn't been easy, but I'm making progress.
I'll be praying for you. You can pray for me too! I can use all of the prayer I can get!!:D
Ummm... Lyds... when Capt. Wentworth said "you pierce my soul..." it was because he loved Anne so much... Does Algebra pierce your soul because you love it so much? I think not. I actually didn't mind Algebra in high school. I thought it was kind of cool.
Yeah, I'm like your main booster-girl! And I'm still with you! I am so thrilled that God is working in you, even in stuff like math! God is answering my effectual prayers! :) (And so many other people's.)
I can't believe you don't like Algebra. I mean, I'm doing Geometry this year, and every time the littlist Algebra problem comes up, I'm like "YAY! Some actual math!!!" But Debbie could skunk my on history, so I guess it's different strokes for different folks.
Oh, and just a reminder: you do have other siblings besides Luke! hehe!
Erica
Carry on Miss. Sigwarth I belive that you will make a Rocket Scientist someday, I mean, 4 grades in one year. Wow, that means, 4 grades per year... by 12th grade you'll be in the 21st grade, almost a masters degree, wow.
Yes, I am aware that I have other siblings. But THEY hate to have their picture taken, especially in some funny pose... that's why they haven't had a place in the famous favorite picture of the week. I'm serching for one though...next week I'll surprise you all!!!
You ARE my main booster girl Erica!! What would I do with out you????? Do you think I could "skunk" you in History too? We'll have to see sometime!!!
Rebecca:No I don't love Math the way Wentworth said it, Heaven forbid! I just said it for fun. And it made Merry laugh, so it was worth it!:-)
I'll be praying for you too Kourt!!
Do you mind I if I call you that???
Just so everyone knows "anonymous" is Joe.
ditto Rebecca! I was about to say the same thing....
Math can be difficult at times, but stick with it and have a good attitude and things get better. Sometimes it's even fun.
Lydia
I don't really care if you call me Kourt. I really don't care what you call me. I get called all sorts of strange names. Oh the joys of having a little brother:D
I love the picture of you and your little brother! It's SO cute!:D
Stop saying "I think . . ." Serious. Start saying "I can." About everything. Even the things you don't want to do. It will make a great big difference!
The brain is a funny thing, sometimes it takes a little longer for things to start firing, but once they do, Look Out! as you can now testify too! Oh, by the way, I'm waiting for that E!
Lydia
How are you liking "Piercing the Darkness"? I read it once and I didn't really like it. I don't think that demons are really the way Frank Peretti describes them. Because if there all terrible ugly looking monsters, then how do they fuel us on a regular bases? I think they are clever enough to look more like things we would like. Things that are cuddly and cute. Things we wouldn't want to get rid of.
Thanks for clearing that up--I was wondering who wrote that clever anonymous comment. :) Shoulda guessed.
I'm with Tyson! We can do so much, we just have to make up our minds! I think a post about this is in the makings over at my blog...
No, YOU couldn't skunk me in history. I mean, do you know who Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan were? I won't brag about Custer...you most likely know who he is.
Sorry about commenting twice; I just had to!
