That Day that Comes But Once a Year...

I am currently in my own personal heaven on earth. Just stepping over the doorstep of the farm house makes me blissfully happy :-)

It's because this big farm house surrounded by never-ending fields is home to some of my favorite people.

And when we all get together once a year we're bound to have at least a little fun.

For these faces, and my friends and family

I am truly Thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving!

"You seem a decent fellow, I hate to kill you" "You seem a decent fellow, I hate to die."

(notice our plastic knifes/swords)

This last weekend we "reenacted" some of our favorite scenes from Princess Bride I was:

"Father guide my sword!"
Sue and Erica were Valerie and Max.

"Humperdink!" I can't hear you!"
" I swear on the soul of my father, Domingo Montoya, you will reach the top alive"

We can be really goofy sometimes...

Old Fashioned Fun

Yes, I'm almost 17 years old, and yes I STILL play dress-up, just a more mature dress-up, I think, well the clothes actually fit me, so that's something...

I went to my friend Lillie's house last Saturday and we had tea and a photo shot. We can be such goofs! CAPTIONS ABOVE PICTURES

The lovely ladies themselves...
Isn't my dress a gorgeous color? Mrs. Darling is going to wear it in P.P.

I was attempting the sober Civil War widow pose in this one...

not quite sure I pulled it off.

The lovely Miss Lillian. (If you can't already tell,

I love turning pictures black and white.)

I loved this outfit, there's hardly anything as fun as going on a walk
on a snowy afternoon clad in a hoop skirt, plaid dress, wool cloak and a white huge white fur tam.

Our tea table, I decorated it my self:-) The menu was scones, chocolate cookies, tea, and a blueberry/blackberry/apple/ blueberry yogurt fruit salad topped with whipped topping. It was almost, almost, too good looking to eat:-)

Lillie's' cat enjoying the winter country-side scenery.

William Penn Quote

While on the farm subject...

"The country life is to be preferred, for there we see the works of God, but in cities little else but the works of men."
William Penn

Now this I agree with. I can't stand big cities, all smoke, cars, people minding there own business. No warmth or comradely, no love. Not meaning to sound like "the looove people" or anything.... but anyway. I do like the country life. It is in a way so much cleaner. Then there's the ONLY reason I would only live on a farm HORSES!

Quote of the day:D

Erica will like this one from Thomas Edison:

"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work."

In other words :
FARM!

Now that's funny thing for me to say because, as you you might know, I've always been adamant about NEVER being a farmer's wife. I like most things Edison said, but this time he's a little off. Opportunity can be found in other things... but I do think agriculture is a very admirable profession-for other people:D

I do like overalls, I had a black velvet pair when I was younger that I really liked. "If I had any money to spare I'd build (buy) one myself!"~Robert Farris S.&S.

Cheerio,
Lydia
